Terms of Service

The short version

1. Who we are

Race to Revelation ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Good Business HQ LLC ("the operator"). Contact: info@racetorevelation.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Race to Revelation. If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these terms and agreed to them on your behalf.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction where the minimum digital-consent age is higher, that local minimum applies to you.

We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us at info@racetorevelation.com and we will delete it.

3. Your account

To play, you create an account with an email address and password.

Username. You choose a username when you sign up. Your username is publicly visible to other players — on leaderboards, in head-to-head challenges, and in shared activity. Usernames must be unique. We reserve the right to reclaim or refuse any username we believe is offensive, impersonates another person, infringes a trademark, or otherwise violates these terms. Our automated profanity filter blocks obvious cases at sign-up; we may also act on reports after the fact.

Account security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

One person, one account. Don't create multiple accounts to climb the leaderboard or evade restrictions.

Accuracy. Use a real email address you control. We use it to send you account-related messages and (with your permission) optional reminders.

4. How the race works

Race to Revelation is a daily Bible trivia game. Each day, every player gets the same set of questions for that day's book in canonical order (Genesis through Revelation). Your score, time, streak, and other stats are stored on our servers and displayed on leaderboards alongside other players who race the same day.

You can also play head-to-head ("challenge") races with specific other players outside of the daily window. Challenge results are visible to the players involved and may contribute to public stats and badges.

Trivia questions are written by us and our contributors. We don't claim to be a religious authority — questions are factual statements about the biblical text in widely-recognized English translations. If you find a question you believe is wrong or misleading, please report it via the in-app Report this question button.

5. Acceptable use

When using Race to Revelation you agree NOT to:

We can suspend or terminate any account that breaks these rules at our discretion.

6. In-app purchases

The app offers optional in-app purchases (such as Catch Up Passes that let you re-enter a missed race window). These are sold through Apple's App Store and are subject to the App Store Terms. All purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law or by Apple's refund process. Apple — not us — handles payment, billing, and refunds.

Virtual items, passes, badges, and achievements have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may not be exchanged for real currency or other goods. We may modify or discontinue virtual items at any time.

7. Bible content and translations

The app references Bible content from one or more publicly available English translations. Public-domain translations (such as the King James Version) are used freely; other translations are referenced under their respective publishers' license terms. Selecting a translation in-app does not transfer any rights in that translation to you — your right to use those translations within the app is limited to personal, non-commercial use as part of playing.

If a translation's publisher withdraws permission, we may remove or replace that translation in the app.

8. Intellectual property

The app's design, code, original artwork, original content, trivia questions written by us or our contributors, and the "Race to Revelation" name and logo are owned by the operator or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works from this content without permission.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose (playing the game) on devices you own or control.

9. User-submitted content

If you submit content to the app — such as a question report, a feedback message, or a challenge invitation — you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and act on that content for the purpose of operating and improving the app.

You represent that you have the right to submit anything you submit, and that submitting it doesn't violate anyone else's rights.

10. Termination

You can stop using Race to Revelation at any time and request that we delete your account (see the Privacy Policy for how).

We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your account is inactive for an extended period, or if we discontinue the service. We will try to give you reasonable notice except where doing so would compromise other users or the service.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limits on liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every kind of attack, or that it will meet your requirements.

We're a small team and the app is in early development. Features may change, leaderboards may be reset, and bugs will exist.

Race to Revelation is for entertainment and educational purposes. Nothing in the app constitutes religious, spiritual, theological, medical, legal, or financial advice. Participation is not a substitute for personal scripture study, attending a faith community, or consulting a qualified pastor, counselor, or other professional.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the operator nor our contributors will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the app.

In no event will our total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us through in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, the limits above apply only to the extent permitted.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator, its affiliates, and its contributors from any claim, demand, or liability (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these terms, your misuse of the app, or your violation of the rights of a third party.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect, unless the change is required for legal or security reasons (in which case it may take effect immediately). Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and we agree that any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you live in a jurisdiction whose law gives you mandatory protections (such as the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California), nothing in this section overrides those protections.
